Scaling digital skills to improve academic performance: case study in Paraguay
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper addressed the scaling of digital competencies in the academic performance of students who attend a Telecenter after school hours in Paraguay. Such approach was imposed since the influence of digital competencies on academic performance is evidenced, however, the Paraguayan educational system still has a tangential view of digital competencies, since they are not covered in the curriculum more than in a transversal way, so the research is timely, showing the importance of facing this technological challenge. The objective was to analyze the scaling of digital competences of students who participated in training activities in the Telecenter of Basic School No. 152 "San Roque González de Santa Cruz" and its impact on academic performance. This purpose was achieved through a sequential, quantitative descriptive research, having as study subjects students of the 7th, 8th and 9th grades of Basic School Education, in the first semester of the year 2023. The analysis proved that there are significant differences on the scaling of digital competencies in the academic performance of students as a function of before and after participating in training activities at the Telecenter.
