Abstract

This article takes into consideration the recommendations addressed to public and private universities raised from article 33 of the National Mental Health Law (Nº 26657). They think about the adequacy of the training of mental health professionals —which include the careers of: Law, Nursing, Medicine, Psychology, Social Work. On the other hand, to work in education from the perspective of rights, more tools are needed in terms of symbolic and theoretical resources. In the field of mental health we find some very important ones. In this regard, the article contemplates a curricular dimension in the relationship education-mental health. It focuses on those gaps/absences of teacher education about the problematic. It also highlights the richness of addressing these issues, from the perspective of rights.
These are questions that support the article: what aspects of mental health are necessary to teacher education? If the rights perspective is included: what tools can this education provide to problematize issues related to mental health in the educational field?
