Abstract
One of the main challenges for public science and technology institutions lies in aligning research activities and outcomes with the R&D agenda and institutionally defined strategic guidelines. Among the factors defining this alignment, scientific publications stand out, often considered the primary product of research activities. The National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA) in Uruguay has established the enhancement of indicators for the quantity and quality of peer-reviewed scientific publications as an institutional policy. Various actions were defined to achieve this objective. To monitor the results of these actions, a bibliometric study of INIA's publications for the period 2011-2022 was conducted. This article presents the obtained results, facilitating a discussion on strategic relevance, evolution, the formation of workgroups, and institutional linkages related to the publication of scientific articles. Such analyses contribute to the ongoing review of institutional strategy in an agile, dynamic, and efficient manner.
