Resumo

As micro e pequenas empresas, por suas características particulares em recursos e processos operacionais, apresentam maiores dificuldades para lidar com a inovação como um desafio estratégico. Este artigo procura identificar algumas estratégias para fortalecer as capacidades para a inovação nessas empresas. Para esse propósito foi realizada uma seleção e revisão de documentos acadêmicos sobre as capacidades para a inovação, nos quais se indica a necessidade de trabalhar em três capacidades: prospecção, exploração e manutenção ou reconfiguração. A literatura acadêmica tende a mostrar estratégias de fortalecimento orientadas a empresas que têm recursos para realizar a inovação; no entanto, as micro e pequenas empresas requerem da mesma forma ações ajustadas a suas limitações para poder crescer e permanecer no mercado.
